Just before leaving for my trip to Prague, I had the opportunity to sit down with some very meaningful questions from VoyageATL about my life, my work, and the journey that brought me to where I am today.

From a little girl growing up in communist Czechoslovakia, to coming to America with my young son, rebuilding my life, discovering and developing my gifts, and eventually earning my Ph.D.—this interview allowed me to reflect on how all of those pieces became part of the work I do today.

At the heart of it all is still the same message:

You are one of a kind.
You have gifts worth remembering.
And you deserve to live with dignity.
